Educational Leader

That teachers are leaders within their classrooms hardly needs to be stated.  Still, while this leadership role is assumed, teachers must work towards effectively exercising that leadership position.  Within the classroom teachers lead in numerous ways, including modeling strategies, providing expertise or advice, and effectively managing the class.  Within the greater school culture teachers must also serve as leaders, be that through athletics or clubs, advocating for their students, or working to improve the school in any of various ways.  The Educational Leader strand of the conceptual framework emphasizes the importance of leadership both in the classroom and in the school community as a whole.  Check back for updates to this page later this spring.

It's a bit tricky to find a document that displays my ability to be an educational leader, so for this example I'm using a reference letter from my cooperating teacher that discusses my classroom skills and the ability to lead students.   Because Christian Lesnett has seen me the most in the classroom, I think he can best attest to my leadership ability.
