Ability to Plan, Organize, and Prepare for Teaching

Though the ability to plan, organize, and prepare is clearly vital for most professionals, their importance for teachers cannot be understated.  Having to juggle several classes and usually more than 100 students means that a teacher must make heavy use of each of these skills if he/she is to be successful.  Teachers must make use of well thought out lessons, assessments, and instructional strategies that account for the variations both in their classes as a whole as well as among the different learners in each of those classes.

 The Republic

This is a concept formation lesson that shows thorough planning and organization.  If you would like more information on the World History I Virginia Standards of Learning [SOL] and National Council for the Social Studies [NCSS] to which the objectives of this lesson are linked, I have provided PDFs of those standards.  Additionally, here is a link to clarify the PASS standards to which I refer in my lesson reflection.
