Reflective Practioner

The Reflective Practioner strand of the conceptual framework highlights the importance of critically reviewing our work as educators. Reflection is something that is important not just in our pedagogy but in our lives as a whole. Evaluating today's successes and failures helps us prepare for what tomorrow brings. Though the William and Mary School of Education prepares us to be pedagogical experts, our teaching will never be perfect. We must often adapt our lesson plans, instructional strategies, and management strategies depending on the circumstances.
Concept Formation Lesson and Reflection: On the last page of this lesson plan you'll find my reflection after having taught the lesson in my two sections of honors world history. How this reflection relates to the "Reflective Practitioner" strand is fairly straight forward. After every lesson I mentally assess what went well and what may not have gone well; this lesson reflection shows that process.
